The Crowborough Players

Panto 2026 - The Hound of the Baskervilles

Panto season is almost upon us again! This year will see Crowborough's latest community pantomime at the Community Centre - The Hound of the Baskervilles - and we’d love you to be involved! Performances will be on 11th, 12th and 13th December.

If you're already a member, and would like to pay your performance fee for a show, please click the 'PAY PERFORMANCE FEES' button on the right. If you'd like to join or renew your membership, please click the 'JOIN/PAY MEMBERSHIP FEES' button.

Offstage Crew/Help Meeting
Anyone interested in crewing, from front of house to lighting and sound, or helping with the production in any way you can think of - please come along to a crew/help meet on:
  • Sunday 6th September, 3.00-5.00pm, Crowborough Community Centre (Attendance at this meeting isn’t crucial for a backstage role, if you can’t make this date)

Adult/Senior Youth Open Auditions
Auditions for Adults (age 16yrs+) and any Senior Youth Cast (12-15yrs) who want an 'adult rehearsal part'* will be held on:
  • Thursday 10th September, 7.30-9.30pm, Crowborough Community Centre OR
  • Sunday 13th September, 3.00-5.00pm, Crowborough Community Centre OR
Initial chat at 7.30pm/3.00pm, followed by group or individual auditions. These are for anyone who wants to act, sing or dance in the panto. You can leave after your audition, but there may be some waiting around and we may not see everyone until quite late. More details, including a character list, will be available on this website soon.
* A parent or guardian of 12-17yr-olds must attend the first 10 minutes of the audition to be briefed on rehearsal commitments and sign a permission form. These roles include evening rehearsals until 9.30pm.

Panto Audition Pack - this should contain all the info you need for auditions

Juniors' Panto Workshop
Junior Youth Cast (6-11yrs) and any 12-15yrs who want Sunday-afternoon-only panto rehearsals (we call these cast members “Senior Leaders”) should come along to the:
  • Juniors’ Panto Workshop on Sunday 20th September, 3.00-5.00pm, Crowborough Community Centre (ages on the first day of production - 11/12/26) - Basically, it's how you join the panto if you want to have lots of fun but Sunday-only rehearsals :)
Come along and be a part of an inclusive group! Have fun and gain confidence on stage!

This isn't an 'audition' - we workshop scenes and roles and discuss in small groups or pairs what role every junior actor wants to do. Everyone who turns up and wants to be in the panto is guaranteed to be in it! This workshop may overrun slightly depending on numbers.

Note: Parents or guardians, please come to the parent information session at 3pm for 15 minutes. There will be permission forms to complete there. These roles do not have evening rehearsals.

We meet at Crowborough Community Centre, Pine Grove, Crowborough, TN6 1FE.
If you’re interested in being involved, but can’t make any of these dates, please contact us :)

The Players are Crowborough's community theatre group, the Crowborough Players [est. 1933, & reborn in 2012].  If you’re completely new to theatre, highly experienced or somewhere in between, we’d love you to be involved.
We are a members' club and new members are always welcome. We are all volunteers with different training and experience. You don’t have to be into acting, singing or dancing; if you have a skill, we can use it. If you want to learn a skill, here’s the place to try it out. Ages 7 to 70+.
